Client: Kamala Harris
Session Theme: "Unqualified but Uplifted: When the Party Gives You the Mic."
Therapist: Have you ever run a government or large-scale operation?
Kamala: I was Vice President from 2021 to 2025. That gave me visibility into the executive branch and national issues. But I haven’t run a state like a governor would, and I didn’t manage a Cabinet department directly.
Therapist: You’re running for an executive office with no executive record. You’re competing against governors with full-spectrum leadership experience. Doesn’t that make your candidacy structurally weaker?
Kamala: I believe the Vice Presidency exposed me to high-level decision-making and national policy. I also think carrying forward Joe Biden’s legacy makes me uniquely qualified.
Therapist: Do you consider yourself presidential material — or simply a figure elevated by symbolic relevance and donor support?
Kamala: I believe I represent progress. My identity matters. But I understand there’s more to leadership than that. I’ve tried to be a steady hand and advocate for key issues.
Therapist: Let’s talk about management. Have you run a large business or a complex organization? Do you have military experience or background in logistical operations?
Kamala: No, I don’t have business or military leadership experience. My career has been in public law and policy.
Therapist: Your campaign in 2020 failed before the first votes were cast. You were nominated in 2024 by default. Why should anyone expect a different outcome in 2028?
Kamala: I’ve grown since then. The Vice Presidency was a learning experience. I’ve developed resilience, and I know the issues better now. I believe the country deserves a fighter who understands what’s at stake.
Therapist: And yet enthusiasm for your candidacy remains low — even among your party’s base. How do you respond to accusations of being a placeholder rather than a visionary?
Kamala: That hurts, but I understand it. I need to do more than just show up. I need to connect, lead, and prove myself. I still believe I can.
"Kamala, political destiny is not inherited. It’s earned. Your path forward should be paved by performance — not promotion."
